On Monday night, Ashley Hebert began her search for love as the new Bachelorette. And at the same time, the love story of the last Bachelor duo, Brad Womack and Emily Maynard, is coming to a close.
It hasn't been an easy road for the former Bachelor and his final rose winner since the show wrapped earlier this year. Now, Maynard has been spotted without that diamond sparkler Womack placed on her finger on his season's finale.
"It's completely over now," the source tells Us Weekly, adding that Maynard has returned the engagement ring to ABC.
Another insider says that Brad and Emily have been completely done for "about two weeks" and that Brad, 38, isn't doing so well since the split.
"Brad keeps drunk-dialing her," a friend of Emily's said. "Brad is such a loser."
It seems that the 25-year-old single mom wasn't ready to move to Texas to be with Brad, and the distance just destroyed them.
"Emily is happy in Charlotte (North Carolina) and is not moving to Austin with (her 5-year-old daughter) Ricki," another source said. "She is content."
Maynard apparently broke the news to Womack when she flew to Austin earlier this month, in one last effort to make things work.
As much as we always want things to work out for these Bachelor and Bachelorette couples, you could have seen this coming from the get-go. Maynard was extremely guarded on her season of The Bachelor.
And though it seemed that Brad -- who first served as the Bacheler in 2007 and was given a second chance at love -- was finally ready to settle down, the results never seemed too promising. Do you think ABC should give him a third chance?
