I reckon I'll be waiting in line at West Town mall Friday like a shmuck for the iPad 2. Anyone have any experience with Apple product launches in Knoxville prior to this? What sort of line should I expect?
I plan on checking in around noon to see what is going on. I'll either get in line then or come back around 3pm depending on the crowd. I'm not looking forward to waiting in line, but I can't resist the urge to have one of these things in my grubby little hands Friday night.
If anyone else is planning to go, it would be great to update this thread with the status of the event. I will once I get there.

I'm not there now but I heard that there are only about 10 people there. I may head over around 4 in the morning but I don't know if that's too late or not.

Anyone going to Pioneer Place next Friday to pick their copy up. It will probably be a mad house.

I made a minor change to the links on the front page unreleated to vBulletin. The links are no longer underlined.

If I have to somehow transfer the whole video as well into iMovie (which I have never used and know zero about!) just to get the audio, would that work? or is there some easier way to do this?
No need to transfer video if you don't need it. Connect a cable from the DVR' "Line-Out" jacks to the mac's "Line-In" jacks. Likely you will need a special cable to do this. They are not expensive. THen I'd use Garage Band to record the audio. Set up a stereo "real instrument" (or "vocal") in GB and start recording then press play in the dvr. later stop both. trimm off the dean space from both ends of the recording and save. It is easy to move the resul to iTubes from GB.
Youu ay need to watch some tutorial videos about GB and you should buy the cable from a place that has good sales people (Try Sweetwater, but certainly NOT Amazon) ell the sales guy your DVR has "left and right RCA" and the Mac has 1/8th inch stereo" if that is in fact what you have.
The person who recommended Audio Hijack must have assumed the recording as already on the MAC

On their store, apple has their 160 day same-as-cash credit thing. I was just wondering if that is the same thing as if I bought my computer and then paid off the whole lump-sum before the 160 days, it would be interest-free? I'm confused Thanks for any help on the matter.
BTW, I did raise this question on another thread, but it was unrelated so I decided to make a new thread for this question to get more targeted answers.

I was thinking of upgrading my August 08 iMac to 10.7 when it releases, but have some software that I am not sure will work and dont want to lose in the upgrade and cant really afford to upgrade the software.
Does Vmware Fusion 3 work, Adobe CS 3, and Microsoft Office Student edition 2008 work on 10.7 Dev preview 2?
Thank you.

I wanted to know about the word "misanthrope". is it a "pee" at the end or just like it's spelled "ope"? I'm pretty sure it's the later.
That's how I use it and have heard it pronounced: MISanthrope. A person who dislikes or distrusts others and seeks to avoid them.

Hi MJ...yes it did...all seemed fine..some Quicktime trilers have lost their sound too...the WMP dislpays that warning and freezes! It seems to me that you have other issues. Try restarting your computer. If this does not do the trick, use a utility like OnyX or Yasu to run the periodic maintenance tasks. If you still have problems, restart in single-user mode and run fsck -fy from the command prompt.

Yes because the "problematic disk" work fine on other devices.
Looks like it was a Roxio issue. The files played fine when i burned them from the smart burn folder.

Okay, still trying to get this to work. I tried using installous. I put my purchased copy of imovie on my ipad (via ssh) and then tried to install it using installous. I got back an error message of "not a valid IPA file".
I am not sure what this means. I purchased my copy of imovie through iTunes.
Anyone else ran into this?

It's really easier than you might think. Just set up the groups, set up the share points in Shared Items (don't actually SHARE them) then assign the permissions. Know though that "read/write" will not work properly for your needs. ACL's must be set to "full control".

I have an Ion Profile Pro USB turntable. In addition to the USB connection, it has a set of RCA (red and white) output jacks. However, the instructions indicate that the output of the RCA jacks is line level, which is not strong enough to power speakers by itself. Most USB turntables that have aux outputs are like this, from the research I've done.
If your turntable has the RCA outputs, you'll need a small receiver or amp to power the speakers.

It's too bad it's so little, but chopping out too many frames made it look too.. well.. choppy. I opted for tiny and "smooth", over large and choppy.
