When I buy RAM for my Macs, I buy Crucial, cheap, reliable and high-quality. Apple uses mostly cheap Korean brand 'Hynix' memory modules in their Macs and they are quite unreliable. Can't speak for OWC though...

Ditched my 17" HP and my Dell Desktop when I got my 15" MBP. I tried juggling different laptops and what not but it got to be kind of a pain. I do everything on my MBP now and along with the 1TB backup drive and countless cloud storage accounts, I'm pretty good with my setup now. That and I have about 10 USB keys so the important data I need will always come with me.

I just installed a brand new hard drive into my 2009 mini and I am trying to install Snow Leopard. I don't want any of the files from the old HD. The install of the hd into the mini went fine (or so it appears) but when I try to install SL on the new hard drive it gets stuck at the window which asks which drive I want to install to. I never get an option for a drive so something is wrong. Any ideas?

love the slider's look, feel, and protection but hate the weight it adds and that its not the easiest of cases to slide in and out of my pocket.
Anyone know any cases similar with a tight fit on the phone and protective enough like the slider but a little lighter?

I am going to be installing the MCE Opti Bay tomorrow. Hopefully all will go smoothly. I will post and let you know how it goes.
I will be putting a 128GB SSD in the main drive bay and the stock 320GB HDD in the optibay.

Halarious. I was just curious wasa justifies 12 Core and 64gb of ram. I have been using a octo-core with 16gb and it does everything i need and then some so i thought....wtf would you need 64gb.

As far as I know it's not closing on the 3rd. It's just not going to open every day after the 3rd. It'll go back to just opening once a week... on a Wednesday... from 10am. :-)

I am doing a website for a client and they have sent me their logo.
The design is pretty basic but the image they sent me doesn't quite do it justice.

I have a mid-2009 15� MBP. Last year I upgraded my 500GB HDD with a 160GB SSD. Overall I love the results and believe it�s one of the best hardware upgrades I have made in recent years.
However, 160GB quickly becomes difficult to work with (especially with multiple VMs) so I am keen to look for another internal storage solution.
This is where OptiBay comes in. Allowing me to remove my optical drive (which I never use) and add an additional HDD.
I am keen to understand if anyone has any experience with OptiBay? Any issues or things I should know about?
My other problem is which one to buy? There are loads on eBay, but I worry about quality. So I have narrowed my search to:
MCE OptiBay (http://www.mcetech.com/optibay/) for $99 or iFixit OptiBay (http://www.ifixit.com/Apple-Parts/9-5-mm-SATA-Optical-Bay-SATA-Hard-Drive-Enclosure/IF107-080) for $59.95?

This time, I wanted to write my own review and thought I should get feedback from other members of this community as well:
If you would like to share a well-written review of your 2011 MacBook Pro - 13/15/17 in at least 100 words and 1 image, then I am your man.
I want to compile all of the submissions I collect here into one big blog post, which each of the reviewers can also publish on their blog. I think it would be interesting to see this all in one post.

The VCR's from the late 80's like the AG-1960, 1970, 1980 are all very affordable and are the professional decks... they are like $75 on ebay(used to sell for $1500+). Then get an older miniDV that has passthrough (about 60-100$). There is a list of them around on the internet... this also gives you the ability to pull data off of miniDV tapes, if you have them. if you dont have MiniDV tapes... get a analog to digital converter.. about $150 from elgato or others.

Ok my mom just got a cable modem today. I have dsl at my house so I'm not sure if i'm doing everything right. The problem is, the airport is not getting an ip address from the modem. I just un-pluged everything for 8min and still nothing(This is applecare said to do.) The modem works fine when hooked up to a computer direct. Anyone have any hints at all. This is really getting to me. Shes running 10.2.6 and all the newest versions of airport/basestation etc.
