again, i'm interested in the PC but would have to wait for some christmas cash. as stated in your previous thread i could trade, a powerbook g3, ipod 3G 15GB, or an imac G3 600
let me know if interested...i also have a few obscure un-tech related things for sale if interested....
but as stated in my previous thread, if it was a 400mhz p-book, I would. But it isn't. :(

yeah I upgraded to a Hitachi Travelstar 500gb 7200, works well. Personally I would go for WD black. For me there has been no difference in battery life between my the hitachi and my stock 60gb 5400, even though the speeds are better.

OK. thanks. I was at the apple store today and i told the salesperson that i wanted 1 gig of ram. he offered me a 1 gb stick, or two 512s. That's why i was confused. I told him that i thought they needed to be in pairs, and he said no.
thanks.Like car salesman, don't trust them with all their answers -- they could have been salesman at the Gap last week.
The iMac G5 is either/or.
If this keeps happening (seems you're not the only one) -- all the more reason to avoid Apple like the plague for memory upgrades, besides the insane cost.
Basically the Apple PowerMac G5 Developer Note -- RAM Expansion (http://developer.apple.com/documentation/Hardware/Developer_Notes/Macintosh_CPUs-G5/PowerMacG5/4Expansion/chapter_5_section_2.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/TP40002012-CH208-TPXREF102) is much more trustworthy than a salesdrone.

Hello everybody.
I have a question about putting the bottom case (plate) back.
Is there a special (or recommended) order to put the screws in to ensure that the bottom case is properly aligned? To avoid wobbling, creaking etc.
Maybe there is some kind of a "service manual" for the Air 2010? (there used to be one for the original Air).

It has been a while since I have played with PHP and SQL. Does using a query string like that open you up to any vulnerabilities? Offhand I'm thinking no because it is run on the server side and the user doesn't have any control over the input in this case.
The code itself is pretty straight forward. Two things to note:
You are pulling everything from the photo_atelier table and then building an array with five elements. If the table contains 100 photos that's a lot of extra data that you are just dropping on the ground.
Also you are pulling every column from that table and only using the name of the photo. You can change the select statement to:
'SELECT photo FROM photo_atelier' to just pull the information you are using.
On a personal note, I find the rotation to be too fast. You also might want to consider adding a pause to the rotation when the mouse is hovering over the image.
Overall I like the design of the site. You have a few CSS issues to work out but it is looking good.

Most likely to help promote being in the keynote attendance. Or it's out of MacWorld's budget. Or Apple said no, because they want exclusive rights to the video and want to put it online on their own terms. Sounds to me like the ladder.
You mean "latter". But yeah I guess......no its still stupid. They need to put this stuff up live!!! They can afford it dang nabbit!! And they had better put up the freakin video that night........IN HIGH RESOLUTION TOO!!!!

On the "One more thing" invitation page, you say iMac with "Frontpage;" I think you mean "front row?"
If not, my apologies.

Last night I was in Walmart picking up Super Paper Mario and the guy working there says, "So you got one of those Wii things, huh?." I replied, "Yeah, do you have one yet." He says, "No, we can't keep them in stock. We still have people lining up at midnight to get them. Every shipment is sold within 4 hours."
This is in a very small town. A little ol' redneck town in Florida. This thing is incredible.

A faster way is to use multiquote, then erase the first /quote, and paste (or retype it) after the second /quote.
As you can see, that doesn't work well, as it makes it look like the wrong person did the quoting.
Or cutting and pasting the second quote= to the start of the reply ...
Which is what I said:
... use the multi-quote button (http://images.macrumors.com/vb/images/buttons/multiquote_off.gif) to get both quotes in your reply, then cut and paste the original post into the post that quoted it.

I heard that the Special Red Edition iPhone 3G Pro will be released soon, if so, will it be 16GB or 32GB? Or, it will have both formats? Will you get this special version instead of a black or white one?
I believe the iPhone would never work as a "Product (red)" seeing as all "Product (red)" products are not for profit. Just like you'll never see a (red) Macbook. It's just too valuable to be for charity, sad ... But true.

Don't think you could go wrong with this keyboard. As to comparing it to the AluBook????? I don't have one and my experience is limited to a few keystrokes at an Apple retailer. HOWEVER, it does seem to compare very nicely from my limited experience. Trust me, this is a nice keyboard especially if you are used to laptops. Finally, I think you might be in luck. I believe I did a Google search and came up with some European/Japanese sites that carried this and/or had some reviews of it. I could swear that in a review I came across some info that you could get a BT version of the IceKey. If they sold it here in the states I'd get one as my G5 is BT. My goal is to "cut the cord" so to speak. I highly recommend the Icekey.... good luck. Cheers
Did some digging and found an old review of the IceKey. Think that it will address your concerns regarding "feel". Check it out. http://www.insidemacgames.com/reviews/view.php?ID=359

Look for the easy button under the type menu. Seriously, selecting the correct type to go with a mark, or use as a particular style is specific to what you are trying to say. Your question implies that you don't know what you are doing. Why don't you prove me wrong and post some examples of your work that includes type you think works... and type that doesn't.

I've read through several different things online and can't seem to find the answer anywhere. I'm going to purchase a 13" Macbook Pro here in the next few weeks and was planning on purchasing AppleCare coverage with it. However I have no Apple Stores near me. I do, however, have two Authorized Service Providers within ten miles of me. Do the Authorized Service Providers honor the AppleCare protection? If the HDD crashes, overheating problems, battery issues, etc will they fix it for free under my AppleCare plan? Or would I have to send it through the mail to Apple and have them fix it?
I've read differing views online. On Apple's AppleCare page it says "Apple may provide service through one or more of the following options: carry-in service (to Apple Retail Stores or Apple Authorized Service Providers), customer drop-off (to UPS stores in the U.S., for iPod and iPhone only), direct mail-in service, onsite service (for desktop computers), or Do-It-Yourself (DIY) parts (so you can service your own product)." I wasn't sure if that meant you can get it repaired (at your cost without voiding the warranty) at Authorized Service Providers or if it meant that the ASPs will honor the AppleCare coverage and fix it for free.
Thanks for your help...

Eager to hear some first hand reviews of the new Kinect. I'm still on the fence.
The games that are out for kinect are nothing really to write home about. joy ride was a blast, Kinect Adventures was ok. but those was the only two i played. but other then that the kinect responded very well, it didn't have a issue detecting motion nor detecting voice. two player works just as good as single player. my friend said his daughter loved the dancing game and it did just as well in that game.
its slow at first due to the lack of some better games, and people are looking at it like the 32x or sega CD and have mixed feelings about it. I think that will change in due time, look at some of the upcoming kinect enabled games.
