never had a problem with my white 3gs - 18 months of use
have just installed Power Support anti glare on the white 4 and looks great, you cant even notice its on, where as on the black it gave a grey-ish shadow to the phone when not in use!
+1 I have a Power Support Anti Glare on my white iPhone 4 and it looks great! I can't even tell it's there.

Hi all,
This is just a FEELER but I might want to trade my ibook for a more powerfull desktop machine and my eMac for an apple laptop.
iBook I have:
12"@ 1.2Ghz
768 MB ram
30 GB HD
Airport
Combo
Battery holds 95% of original charge!
Out of 10 my ibook cosmetically is at an 8, few scuffs on outer case but the inside is cosmetically perfect.
eMac I have:
1ghz
640 MB ram
60 GB HD
Combo
Cosmeticaly almost perfect
European offers are prefered since shipping is cheaper, once again this is only a feeler(might act on it though:D )

I see people talking about just buying an Air and returning it. What exactely is the policy if they buy online? Are these people paying restocking fees for simply returning an Air??

So I have a linksys E3000 dual band. I have had countless problems running N on the 5 ghz band. I am running one side only (2.4 Mixed). I have a new mac mini (n) , macbook (g) , macbook pro (n) , G5 tower (wired) , iMac 17 (g) , xbox 360 (g) , atv2 (n) , ipad (n) , iphone 4 (n) , iphone 3g (g) , 2 ipodt4g (?). The router is putting out a good signal everywhere in the house. I am only getting about 1MB/S transfer between my Macbook Pro and my Mini. Any ideas. I bought a new router just a few days ago. I was getting the exact transfer speeds on the old g router running dd wrt . Any ideas? I have searched, and found everyone's situation is different. I would love to use the 5 ghz band, but I seem to have a lot of problems. Oh, I am running WPA2 for security. Thanks in advance.

Possibly a "Thank You" or "Nice Tip" or "Nice Answer" button for the forum posts.
I've seen this on other forums, and it's nice to give props without adding to the length of a thread.
It would be great, if it would cut down on the number of ancient threads being resurrected years later, just to say thanks! I've never understood the sense of doing that, since you're not adding anything of value to the thread. Sadly, I think that even with a "thank you" button, they'd still resurrect threads to post "thank you" or "this really worked", etc.

Stick with XP for the Windows version. It was enough of a pain to get it to run under Vista.
Otherwise, I only do GPU folding. 10,000 ppd is hard to beat.

I just changed my data plan from 200MB to 2GB a few days ago. The only thing you can't do is view your data usage until your next billing cycle begins.

We had about 10,000photos when our iPhoto library became too unstable to use with confidence.
We looked at Lightroom and Aperture before finally deciding on Lightroom.
We've been happy and not looked back. We only put our top 1% of photos into iPhoto for easy uploading to Facebook/mobileme gallery etc.
I suggest using MRoogle (http://mroogle.edesignuk.com/) to search for threads about "lightroom or aperture", but most people end up saying that you can download both for 30days trials and then decide. But make sure you have plenty of time to play before you decide.
here are a few:

I have recently aquired a Macintosh Plus, it's in need of all sorts of repairs which I wonder if you guys can help with. I'm new to these old Macs so go easy! The good news is I'm good at electronics and monitors so if you need your PSU/ Monitor sorting, call me, anyway to my Mac.
1. I have no floppies for the Mac, I somehow need to figure out how to get say OS 6.08 into the machine. I am not 100% sure if the 800k drive works. I have assumed the Mac+ boots from floppy.
2. Can I boot from CDrom? Could I compile a CDrom on my XP-PC that I can use in an Apple CD-300i Plus cdrom drive on scsi? From what I've seen a special CDrom driver needs to be obtained which is one step after booting from floppy.
3. My ultimate objective is to find Alchemy and Infinity software as I want to connect the Mac+ to an old piece of musical kit I have (a sampler) and this is the only setup that works, so I'm told. Anyone know where I might find a copy of Alchemy?
Thanks in advance.1) the only way to see if the floppy drive works is to try and boot a disk, witch you will need another mac with a floppy drive to write, as i see you are England if you are willing to pay a small fee i could write you some system 6 floppy's
2) you can boot from a cd but it has to be in mac hfs and written with the rite version of apples cdrom driver
3) i will have a look and see if i have those programs but i don't think i have it, maybe you can find them on the internet

Compare them now to the same WU's. Some WU's take a really long time and it sometimes even depends on the first couple of percentages, they sometimes take even longer then the rest of the percentages of the WU. I had t last week that a single percentage took more then 2 hours to process on my machine at work. That was because the extra SSE boost was off. When I restarted folding a percentage only took 50 minutes. So it could also be that your prefs with the console version aren't correct and it doesn't have a boost. Normally you shouldn't be able to see a lot of difference between the GUI or the console version and the same WU.

Thanks. I Mroogled but didn't get that one. Consensus seems that unless using MASSIVE amounts of RAM then booting in 64 bit is pointless.

Some people have reported that re-installing 10.3.8 using the Combo updated from Apple's website rather than the incremental upgrade that you likely did through Software update cured stability problems with 10.3.8.
Worth a shot?

This to me sounds like a battery problem. How old or new is the iPod? I have an iPod Classic 160 from 2006 and works and syncs fine but my older classics are starting to act up and are becoming really, really slow probably most likely from the software updates etc. That's my guess.
It is only about 2 years old. So unfortunately it isn't covered under warranty any more.
Looks more like an hard drive failure, does it make weird clicks?
Yes it does make some weird sounds, the hard drive is actually very noisy when it runs.
